Michael Hutting
Michael Hutting, 60, of Harrison passed away Friday, March 23, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Saginaw.
Michael was born July 30, 1946 in St. Johns to Bruce and Esther (Fedewa) Hutting He graduated high school from St. Mary’s Academy in Carson City, earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Ferris State University and earned a master’s degree from CMU. He was an accountant He worked for CMU, University of Alaska–Juneau and MMCC in Harrison as a business manager before retiring in 2002.
Michael served during the Vietnam War from 1966-1968 and earned a Purple Heart and both the Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross and Campaign Medal. He was a member of Sacred Heart and St. Anastasia Catholic Churches, the Carson City American Legion and the Moose Lodge in Gladwin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and most of all, his family.
Michael is survived by his parents, Bruce and Esther Hutting of Carson City; one brother, David (Kathleen) Hutting of Haslett; two sisters, Mary Ann (John) Hardy of Holland, and Susan Kalocsay of Greenville; special friend, Carolyn Hall of Gladwin; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, William and Helena Hutting, and Arnold and Irene Fedewa.
A funeral mass was held March 26, 2007 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Carson City with Father Charlon Mason officiating.
Interment was at Mary Knoll Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Vincent’s Home or Carson City Hospital.
