Theodore Hughes
Theodore J. “Pete” Hughes 88, of Gladwin, died July 1, 2006 at home after a short illness.
He was born Aug. 20, 1917 to Laurence and Clara (McKimmy) Hughes in Beaverton. He worked as a truck driver with Associated Trucking of Pontiac, moving to Gladwin from there in 1975.
He married Lorraine, who predeceased him in 1976, on Dec. 31, 1939 in Beaverton.
He is survived by four brothers: John “Jack” and Lillian Hughes of Gaylord, Gerald Hughes of Goodrich, Maynard and Alicia Hughes of Midland, and James and Margaret Hughes of Lansing; a sister, Harriet and Gus Thurston-Balluff of Livonia; two sister-in-laws, Etta Jean Hughes of Livonia, and Deanie Hughes of Beaverton; friends, Jean Hughes, Madonna Sherlock and Pat Ladner, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife, Lorraine, parents, and brothers Robert and Laurence. Funeral services were held July 3, 2006 at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton. He was interned at Dale Cemetery in Tobacco Township.
