Wilma Hooper
Wilma I. Hooper, 81, of Beaverton, Michigan, died March 13, 2005 at Gladwin Pines Nursing Home, Gladwin, Michigan following a short illness.
She was born in Gladwin on Oct. 28, 1923 to George and Lydia (Matthews) Gower. She married Earl Hooper in Beaverton on June 30, 1942; he passed away in 1987.
Wilma was a Nurse’s Aid at Gladwin Nursing Home, retiring in 1987. She was a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and a member of Rebekah’s Lodge in Gladwin.
Surviving are three children, La Nora DuBois of Shepherd, Fred (Sue) Hooper of Beaverton, and Patsy Lee LaCoss of Beaverton; 13 grandchildren and 20 Great grandchildren; numerous brothers and sisters; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; parents; daughter-in-law, Ora Jane Hooper; one sister and one brother.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 16 at 11 a.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton, with pastor John Glasscock officiating. Burial will take place in Tobacco Township (Dale) Cemetery in Beaverton.
