Shelly Holsinger

   Shelly M. Holsinger passed from here to her eternal home in heaven on Sunday, July 23, 2006.

   She was born in Midland on Sept. 4, 1952 the daughter of Adrian and Mary (Mester) Swan.

   Shelly M. Swan married George E. Holsinger on Nov. 27, 1971 in Coleman. She loved her family and her main concern was for those she was leaving behind. She enjoyed camping and taking care of her home and dog, Samuel.

   Shelly was an avid quilt maker and knitted scarves for family and friends. She also loved to play games and was a competitive opponent. Shelly was active in her church and liked to visit those who were shut in. She always prayed for others and encouraged them in their walk with God.

   Survivors include her husband George; a son, Terry (Erin) Holsinger of Bay City; a daughter, Jennifer (Mike) Desco of Beaverton; a grandson, Seth Henry Holsinger; three brothers, Vern (Diane) Swan of Clare, Craig (Judy) Swan of Beaverton, and Tracy (Beverly) Swan of Kerens, Texas. She also leaves behind many who witnessed her unwavering faith in God’s goodness even in her battle with cancer.

   She will be remembered for her kind, sensitive spirit and caring ways. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 27, 2006 at the Church of Daniel’s Band, Beaverton, with Rev. Duane Koontz officiating.

   Burial will take place in Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman. Friends may call at the O’Laughlin Funeral Home, Inc. on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. and at the church on Thursday beginning at 10 a.m. Memorials are suggested to MidMichigan Hospice.
