Lous Hillier
Lois L. Hillier, 85, 215 S. Antler St., Gladwin, died Friday, March 19, in the Gladwin Area Hospital.
Born on December 21, 1896, she came to Gladwin County in 1966, from Florida. She was a member of the Gladwin United Methodist Church and the Grout Benevolent Society.
The former, Lois Gere, she was married to Ernest Hillier in Clio December 3, 1913. He preceded her in death December 28, 1977.
Surviving are 3 sons, Wilbur, Jack and Donald, all of Gladwin; 4 daughters, Mrs. Duane (Nellie) Huber of Gladwin, Mrs. George (Naomi) Tarrant of Montrose, Mrs. William (Doris) Leach of Tampa, Fla. and Mrs. William (Kathleen) Webb of Houghton Lake; 4 sisters, Mrs. Eunice Walt of Montrose, Mrs. Bernice Munro of Aylmer, Can., Hildred Gere of Clio and Mrs. Laura Ellis of Mio; one brother, Ernest Gere of Gladwin; 29 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. A son Max also preceded her in death in 1945.
Services were held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Bates officiating. Burial was a graveside service held Monday at 2 p.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clio.
