Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
Donald Hilliard

   Donald A. Hilliard, 77, of Beaverton passed away on Oct. 24, 2006 at MidMichigan Medical Center-Gladwin after a short illness.

   He was born Sept. 12, 1929 to Francis and Josephine (Rutakowski) Hilliard in Baseline. Donald was a maintenance worker for the City of Warren; he retired in 1984 after 34 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran, having served in the Korean Conflict.

   He had lived in Gladwin County for the last 23 years. He previously resided in Warren. On Aug. 4, 1958, Donald married Judy Campbell.

   He is survived by his wife, Judy Hilliard of Beaverton; five daughters, Jeri Lynn (Ken) Sobanski of Holly, Jo Marie (Phil) Hatfield of Lincoln Park, Dawn (Bob) Andrachick of Center Line, Donna (Bill) Berthume of Beaverton, and Crystal (Dave) Sovey of New Baltimore; two sons, George (Lori) Hilliard of Sterling Heights, and Donald Hilliard and friend Dawn Provost of Beaverton; 20 grandchildren, Michael, Christina, Melissa, Brittany, Kayla, Kellie, Samantha, Katie, Haley, Kenny, Chad, Shianne, Matthew, Joshua, Aaron, Shawn, D.J., Christopher, Emily, and Jared; one great-grandchild, Chloe; two sisters, Frances Demott of Rockwood, and Martha Hilliard of Florida; a mother-in-law, Hazel Campbell of Beaverton; six sisters-in-law, Pauline Hilliard of Sterling Heights, Kitty Hilliard of Tennessee, Irene Hilliard of Warren, Isabella (Paul) Ninelist of Beaverton, Ruth (Clarence) Alexander of Gladwin, and Donna (Bob) Wagner of Gladwin; a brother- in-law, Joe (June) Campbell of Warren; and a goddaughter, Denise Colmus of Beaverton. He is predeceased by his parents; three brothers, Robert, Ronald, and Richard; two sisters-in-law, Betty Brosius and Barbara Egres; one granddaughter, Alexandria Berthume; and his father-in-law, George Campbell.

   Funeral services took place Saturday, Oct. 28, 2006 at 1 p.m. at Hall Funeral Home in Gladwin. Pastor David Sprang will officiate.

   Visitation was Friday, Oct. 27 from 1-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions will be used according to the wishes of the family.
