Mae Hetherington
Rites Held for Mae Hetherington
Mrs. Mae Weir Hetherington, 76, of Wagarville, died Thursday morning, Sept. 3 after an illness of three weeks.
Rites were held Saturday from the Miner Chapel with the Revs. Thurlan Meredith, M. R. Putnam, and George Skene officiating. Burial was in Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Hetherington was born in Gladwin Township on Sept. 28, 1837, and was a member of the Wagarville Methodist Church and the Gladwin Rebekah Lodge. She owned and operated the Wagarville Store for about two years and was a lifelong resident of Gladwin County.
She was married to Philander Hetherington on Aug. 14, 1934 in Gladwin. He preceded her in death.
Survivors are one brother, George Weir, of Wagarville; and two sisters, Mrs. Maud M. Alden, of Ferndale, and Mrs. Hazel Greer, of Saginaw.
