RICHARD L. HEDGER


  Richard L. Hedger, 66, of Beaverton, died suddenly Thursday, Oct. 22, 1998 at home. Born Feb. 16, 1932 in Flint, he lived in Gladwin County 32 years and previously lived in Flint. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion Post 0225. He retired in 1978.

  Surviving are two brothers, Jim and wife Flora of Grand Blanc, and Leo of Barbeau; one sister, Mary and husband Robert Smith of California; two half-brothers, Lennie and wife Glenna Hedger of Detour, and Don and wife Alice Hedger fo Wyandotte; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Shirley Harger in 1953; and a companion of 40 years, Verda Todd.

  Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. Monday with Rev. Arthur Munger officiating. Military rites were held by VFW Post 7303. Burial was in Beaverton Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements were in charge of Hall Funeral Home.
