LEONAL B. HAYWARD DIES AT HOME

   Leonal B. Hayward, 61, passed away at his home in Sage township Friday, January 15. He had been in ill health for about four months. Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon from the Hall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Carl Briggs, of the Skeels Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was made in the Skeels cemetery, under the auspices of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Hayward was born in Sanilac county on September 15, 1892, and had resided in Gladwin for the past 56 years. He was a mason by trade, a veteran of World War I and operated a farm in Sage township. On July 27, 1931, he was married to Miss Fern M. Spohn at Gladwin.

   Surviving are his wife, Fern; two sons, Charles E. Hayward of Beaverton and Stanely Hayward of Gladwin; and seven daughters, Laura, Nora, Donna, Irene, Nancy, Ruth and Joan, all at home; one brother, Leslie, of Gladwin; three sisters, Mrs. Veda Greer and Mrs. Laura Kelly, of Gladwin, and Mrs. Rose Fritcher of Flint; also one grandchi.
