Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Mrs. Sarah A. Haynes

   Mrs. Sarah A. Haynes died Sunday evening, July 20, at 7:30 of a heart attack, at her home on Cayuga street, having been in very poor health for a number of years. Sarah A. Lindsay was born Jan. 4, 1853, at Macomb, Hancock county, Ohio. When a small child she came with her parents to Reading, Michigan, where she was married to Wilson Haynes, a Civil war veteran, Nov. 5, 1868. Three children were born to them, Fred, Thaddeus and Mrs. Ella Mathews.
   About 42 years ago Mr. and Mrs. Haynes and family came to Gladwin county, locating first in Grout township later at Pratts lake, in Sage township and finally moving to Gladwin. Mr. Haynes died here Nov. 26, 1916. Since the death of Mr. Haynes, Mrs. Haynes has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Mathews. Mrs. Haynes was a member of the Rebekah lodge.
   She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Ella Mathews, of Gladwin, her son, Fred Haynes, of Jasper, Alberta, and grandson, Edward F. Mathews. Her son, Thaddeus Haynes, was accidentally killed while working on the railroad in 1912.
   Funeral services were held at the home Wednesday afternoon at one o'clock, conducted by Rev., L. M. Whitney, of the Methodist church, assisted by Rev. David S. Agnew, of the Episcopal church, followed by burial at Highland cemetery.
