William Leroy Hawley
SERVICES HELD FOR WILLIAM L. HAWLEY
William Leroy Hawley, 27, passed away at the Wyandotte General Hospital on Wednesday,
October 17, from accidental injuries. He was born in Keego Harbor on June 2, 1924, and lived
in Gladwin county for 23 years, serving three and a half years with the U.S. Navy in the
European theatere during World War II. In November, 1949, he was married to Vida Russell in
Indianapolis, Indiana, and has lived in Detroit since.
Surviving are his wife, Vida, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hawley, of Sage township.
Funeral services were held at the Hall Funeral Home on Saturday, October 20, with the Rev.
John R. Scott, of the Gladwin Methodist church officiating. Burial was made in Highland cemetery.
