Roy C. Hawley
Roy C. Hawley, 80, of Sage Township, died suddenly at his home of a heart
attack on Monday, Feb. 25. He was found on February 27. Mr. Hawley was born in Gladwin on Feb.
21, 1894, and had lived here most of his life. He was a veteran of World War I and was a
self-employed carpenter. He was married to the former Gertrude Sample on June 13, 1923, in
Richmond, Ind. She died on April 26, 1972.
Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Clara Roberts of Gladwin. A son preceded him in death. Rites
were held Friday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home. The Rev. Byron Hatch officiated and burial
was in the Highland Cemete.
