Don Hatchew
Don W. Hatchew, 74, died Aug. 4, 2006 at his home. He worked as a Flint Police Officer and Homicide Detective for 23 years and later as a college professor teaching criminal justice at Delta College for 25 years. He was a member of the Flint F.O.P., the Gladwin Eagles and the Grand Blanc American Legion.
Surviving are his wife, Marlene; children, Don R. (Kim) Hatchew of Gladwin, Jerry (Trish) Hatchew of Adrian, Mike (Audrey) Hatchew of Goodrich, and Sue (Bob) Temple of Fenton; grandchildren, Jeff Hatchew, Nicole Grubb, D.J. Hatchew, Matt Hatchew, Bobby Temple, and Nicholas Temple; Great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Hatchew and Brayden Grubb; sister, Barbara Vaughn of Flushing; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral Mass was held Tuesday, Aug. 8 at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Grand Blanc with Fr. James Swiat officiating. Interment was at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
