Floyd Haremski
Floyd B. Haremski, 88, of Bradenton, Florida and formerly of Saginaw, died Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Manatee Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida. He was born July 20, 1916 to the late Stanley and Stella (Szwed) Haremski in Saginaw. He served in the United States Navy, retiring as a lieutenant commander. He married Jean Sullivan, his loving wife of 62 years, on April 2, 1943 in Kalamazoo. She survives him.
He was employed as a school teacher for the Saginaw Public Schools for 20 years until his retirement in 1976. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel.
Surviving besides his wife Jean are two daughters, one son, and their spouses, Kathleen and Douglas Loose of Bradenton, Florida, Stephanie and Norman Schalk of Gladwin, Michael and Lynn Haremski of Tucker, Georgia; four grandsons; three step-grandchildren; 16 Great grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Wickwire and Marianne Smith; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Stanley and the Rev. Sigmund Haremski.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on April 11 at St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard E. Jozwiak will officiate. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, where military service will be conducted by the American Legion Post 439. There will be a vigil service at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
Friends may call at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775, N. Center Road in Saginaw, where the family will be present on Sunday from 1-5 p.m. and at St. Stephen Catholic Church on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of Mass.
