Leslie Hanna
SERVICES PLANNED
SGT. LESLIE J. HANNA
Father K. E. McGinn will conduct a special memorial service for Sgt. Leslie J. Hanna, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hanna, at the Sacred Heart Church here Tuesday, August 22, at 10 a.m. Sgt.
Hanna was reported missing in action over Germany on February 22nd of this year and memorial
services have been delayed until the family received confirmation of his death.
"Lucky" Hanna, as he was known to his many friends throughout the county, was born in Gladwin
on June 3, 1914. He was a graduate of the Gladwin school with the class of 1934. He enlisted in the
Army in July of 1942 and had been stationed in England as tail gunner on a Flying Fortress since
November of 1943.
Surviving are his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Marie Richmond, of Mt. Pleasant; Miss Elsie and Miss
Helen Mae Hanna, of Muskegon; Cpl. Wendell Hanna, of Fort Sheridan, Illinois; Leo Hanna, of Muskegon;
and Larry Hanna, of Gladwin.
