Walter Lang
Walter H. Lang, 61, of 115 S. Seeley St., Beaverton, died suddenly Friday,
Dec. 19, in the Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Gladwin April 7, 1925, he had spent his lifetime
in the county. Mr. Lang operated a crane rental. He wa a corporal with the Marines during World
War II and was a member of the Gladwin County VFW 7303 and the Operating Engineers Local 324. Mr.
Lang and the former Pauline Leonard were married Aug. 7, 1947, in Gladwin.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Bruce of Beaverton and Douglass of Edmore; one
daughter, Mrs. James (Linda) Kern of Beaverton, 4 brothers, George and Cecil of Beaverton, Albert
of Morton, Ill, and Charles of Mukwonago, Wisc.; one sister, Evelyn Robertson of Gladwin; and 5
grandchildren. A brother, William, preceded him in death in 1985.
Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Beaverton Chapel. The Rev. Father
Joseph Schabel officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. A military graveside service was held
by the Gladwin County VFW.
