Robert Hanes
ROBERT HANES Robert Lee Chester Hanes, 70, of Venice Isle Mobile
Home Park, Venice, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 25, in
the Venice Hospital. Born in Roanoke, Va., he moved to
Florida in 1974 from Beaverton. He was a tooling
engineer with the Dow Chemical Co., and retired from
Brown Machine Company. Mr. Hanes was a member of the
Beaverton Masonic Lodge 453. Elks Lodge 1610 of
Midland and the Scottish Rites Body of Detroit.
Surviving are his wife, Garnet; one daughter, Judy
Jeroue of Midland; 3 step-daughters, Linda
Lautenslager of California, Md., Jane Rauth of St.
Louis, Mo.; and Joan Lovelace of Troy, Mo.; one
sister, Mary Jean Stevens of St. Clair Shores; 2
grandchildren; and 10 step-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Saturday at Venice Isle
Club House at 2 p.m. Interment will be held later in
the Acacia Masonic Park, Birmingham. The National
Cremation Society, Sarasota Chapter was in charge of
local arrangements..
