Albert Hanel
Albert L. Hanel, 53, of 4116 Betty Lee Blvd., Gladwin, died Friday, Jan.
23, in Saginaw Veterans Medical Center after a short illness. Born in Wise July 14, 1933,
he came to Gladwin County 3 years ago from Coleman. Mr. Hanel served in the Air Force during
the Korean War.
Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Beatrice Durham of Coldwater; 5 half-brothers, Daniel Merritt
of Clare, Stanley and Kenneth Merritt of Charlotte, Melvin Durham of Coldwater and Ronald Merritt
of Farwell; 2 half-sisters, Evelyn Landen of Grand Ledge and Wanda Markell of VanWert, Ohio. A
sister, Maxine Bell, preceded him in death Jan. 12.
Rites were held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Jerry
Wells officiated and burial was in the Ridge Cemetery.
