Robert Hammond
Robert R. Hammond, 81, of Beaverton, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2007 at MidMichigan Medical Center- Midland.
He was born in Flint Jan. 3, 1926 to Raymond and Minnie (McDonald) Hammond Robert is a veteran of the United States Navy; he served in World War II.
He worked for the Flint Journal and then worked in maintenance for MidMichigan Medical Center-Midland Robert was a member of the Albright Shores Eagles Aerie #4121 and VFW Post #7303 Robert married Margaret Peckham Oct. 20, 1951 in Montrose.
Robert is survived by his wife, Margaret Hammond of Beaverton; five sisters, Mabel Knight of Beaverton, Betty Sessions of Grand Bay, Alabama, Shirley (Sam) Savage of New Augusta, Mississippi, Etta (James) Sullivan of Pascagoula, Mississippi, and Nellie (Clifton) Lyons Jr. of New Augusta, Mississippi; three brothers, Frederick (Audrey) Hammond of Midland; William (Virginia) Hammond of Grand Bay, Alabama and Glen (Nancy) Hammond of Pontiac; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Claire and Kenneth Hammond.
A remembrance was held Tuesday, March 6, 2007 at Hall- Kokotovich Funeral Home in Gladwin.
