Simson Hale
Simson J. Hale died Oct. 11 at his home in Clare. He came to Beaverton 25 years ago, where he lived until several years ago, when he moved to the county line west of Wheatley, living there until a year ago, when he moved to Clare, farming until his health failed. The cause of his death was heart failure, and he had been ill about a year.
Mr. Hale was born in New York state in November, 1849. His early boyhood days were( spent in Eaton county, Michigan, and he was married to Miss Harriet Beeman, who survives him, besides two daughters, Mrs. Alta Wasson of Clare, Edith of Chicago, and two sons, Glen and Ora of near Clare. Mrs. Lula De Camp, a daughter, preceded him in death, and three children died in infancy. Besides- his children he leaves one sister, Mrs. Belle Haddix of Hoytville, two brothers, T. A. Hale of Mulliken and Mathew of Washington, several grandchildren and great grandchildren and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Oct. 14 at Clare, conducted by Rev. Frank Davis, and interment took place in Cherry Grove cemetery in that city.
The pallbearers were B. Vannatter, W. Walker, B. L. Walters, George Codling, John Pickerin and Aubrey Chatterton.
