Earl Hadden
Earl L. Hadden, 83, of Gladwin passed away Thursday, Jan. 12 at his home. He was born Feb. 27, 1922 in Flint to Irvin and Violet (Stace) Hadden. Earl was a veteran of WWII having served in the Navy. He married the former Arlene Sherman on Dec. 29, 1945 in Flint. Arlene passed away on Nov. 25, 2004. Earl retired in 1975 from Fisher Body and came to Gladwin in 1978. He was a life member of American Legion Post 171 in Gladwin.
Surviving are two sons, David (Helen) Haden of Gladwin and Earl (Mary) Hadden, Jr. of Lapeer; five grandchildren, Tami, Chris, Paula, Brian and Lianna; one great grandson, Kyle Hadden; and two brothers, Jack Hadden of Vassar and Richard (Mary Ellen) Hadden of Otter Lake. Four brothers predecease Earl.
A funeral service for Earl and a memorial service for Arlene were held Jan. 17 at the Bentley Wesleyan Church in Burton with pastor Roger Van Donkelaar officiating. Burial was in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. A veterans’ memorial service was held Jan. 15 at the Sisson Funeral Home under the auspices of American Legion Post 171, V.F.W. Post 11256 and V.F.W. post 7303.
