Edna Greer
Edna M. Greer, 100, of Gladwin passed away Wednesday March 7th at Edna Mae’s Leisurely Country Living.
She was born July 10, 1906 to Fred and Anna (Kramer) Reithel in what was then the community of Oberlin. She grew up in Oberlin and worked at her parents general store, post office and farm. Edna graduated from high school in 1925. She married Amos Greer on September 12, 1937 in Detroit They started the Greer Motel in 1941 and retired from it in 1971 She loved to hunt and play golf having once scored a hole in one at the Gladwin Heights Golf Course.
Surviving are her husband, Amos; a brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Jeanne Greer of Gladwin; and several nieces and nephews. One sister, Lillian, and four brothers, John, Edward, Fred and William, predecease her.
Services were held at 11 a.m Saturday at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Rev. Matthew Schultz officiated and entombment was in the Highland Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Arrangements were handled by the Sisson Funeral Home.
