Walter Mailings Green
Walter Mailings Green, the adopted son of Mr. and Mrs. Green, was born in Chicago, Ill., Dec. 25, 1910, and passed to his reward at the University hospital, Ann Arbor, Oct. 26, 1926, aged 15 years, 10 months and one day.
Walter came to live with Mr. and Mrs. Green in the summer of 1912 at their home in Beloit, Wis. With Mrs. Green he came to Gladwin to live eight years ago and during that time won the friendship of schoolmates and all with whom he came, in contact. In school he was a favorite and with those of older years he had won a place in their lives that will cause them to remember the kindly deeds he has done.
Walter was taken sick in April with the flu, from which he never fully recovered. Later he developed heart trouble and grew gradually worse until six weeks ago when he was taken to Ann Arbor where the thread of life seemed to weaken until the summons to come up higher was answered Tuesday morning, Oct. 26. Walter was a patient sufferer and having yielded his young heart to his Maker was ready to meet Him "who doeth all things well." Besides his foster parents, Mr. and Mrs. Green, he leaves to mourn their loss, his mother and brother Joe of Chicago and sister Katherine of Gladwin, Mich., besides other relatives and a host of friends.
