Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Mark Grant

   Mark Grant of Beaverton passed away on April 14, 2005 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw. He was born July 27, 1959 in Clare to Bert and Jessie (Whalen) Grant. Owner and operator of Mark Grant Builder, he is a lifetime resident of Gladwin County and a member of the Community of Christ Church in Beaverton.

   Mark married Virginia “Ginny” (Dailey) Grant of Beaverton on June 13, 1981. She survives him, along with their daughters, Michelle “Smell” Grant (Matt Colvin) of Gladwin, and Melissa “Goog” Grant of Beaverton (Tyler Molesworth, Gladwin).

   Between camping, hitching and unhitching horse trailers, fixing tack, and throwing hay for the girls and their horses, Mark was an avid fly fisherman, catching trout, bass and bluegill whenever he had the chance. Dozens of trails leading to Gladwin County lakes and rivers will forever bear the image of his footprint. Mark is also survived by his parents; brothers, Dave Grant of Beaverton, Mike (Cindy) Grant of Colorado, Scott (Colleen) Grant of Beaverton, Gordon (Karlina (Grant of Midland, Douglas (Christina) Grant of Tennessee; father-inlaw Edward Dailey of Beaverton; and several nieces and nephews.

   He was predeceased by his mother-in-law, Florence Dailey.

   Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on April 16, 2005 at Hall Funeral Home in Beaverton. Elder Thomas Rodabaugh officiated. Mark will be buried at Artbutus Cemetery in Beaverton. Memorials can be made to the Mark Grant Builder Memorial Fund, Comerica in Beaverton.
