Jacob Gower
Jacob Gower died at his home at Rhodes, Friday
morning at 10:30. His native state was Pennsylvania
where he was born July 3, 1842, and he died at the age
of 70 years, seven months and four days. He was
enlisted as a private in company H, 131st infantry
regiment, Pennsylvania volunteers, and re-enlisted as
private in company F, Fifth cavalry regiment,
Pennsylvania volunteers, serving three years, and was
mustered out August 7, 1865. He had been a resident of
Bentley township 19 years. Services were held Sunday
afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment took place in Rhodes
cemetery.
