Ethel Govitz
Ethel M. Govitz, 77, of Gladwin died May 14, 2005 at her daughter’s home in Gladwin. She was born Aug. 22, 1927 in Gladwin to Leo, Sr. and Anna (Charhita) Martonosi. She married George Govitz in Gladwin on May 15, 1948; he died in 1977. Mrs. Govitz was a homemaker and lived in Gladwin County her whole life. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She is survived by 13 children, George, Jr. (Evelyn) Govitz, Terry (Peggy) Govitz, Gregg (Jackie) Govitz, Randy (Kristi) Govitz, Alan (Lisa) Govitz, Martin (Carol) Govitz, David Govitz, Judy (Ted) Doan, Jan Govitz, and Lorraine (Jerry) Farrow, all of Gladwin, Joan (Max) Schunk of Clare, Theresa (Chris) Padella of Gladwin, and Melissa (Stephen) Jackson of Clare; 34 grandchildren and 29 Great grandchildren; two brothers, Leo Martonosi, Jr. and Joe (Juanita) Martonosi, both of Gladwin; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, daughter Christine, parents, brothers John, Lewis and Albert, and sister Erma Keen.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 17 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin with Rev. Fr. Patrick Jankowiak. Burial took place at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Gladwin.
