Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Rex Good Sr.

   Rex O. Good, Sr., 75, of Gladwin died June 21, 2005 at home after a short illness.

   He was born in Nester Township on April 24, 193o to Wilbur and Bessie (Blake) Good. He married Loretta Klassen on May 30, 1953; she passed away in 1994. He married Arita Hager in Houghton Lake on April 22, 1995.

   Mr. Good lived in Gladwin County all his life. He was the owner/operator of Rex Good Excavating in Gladwin, retiring in 1990.

   Rex was on the Meredith Pool League, a lifetime member of the Gladwin V.F.W. 11256, and a member of Houghton Lake Eagle Aerie 3201 and Gladwin Moose Lodge 287. He was Gladwin County Road Commissioner, and also served on the Gladwin County Sheriff Department. He was an MP in the Korean Conflict while in the army.

   Surviving him are his wife, Arita Good of Gladwin; two sons, Rex O., (Judy) Good of Midland and David (Debbie) Good of Gladwin; four grandchildren, eight step-grandchildren and 16 Great grandchildren; three step-daughters, Joni Yeager-Knapp (and friend Dave McMullen) of Gladwin, Sue (Bob) Wolschon of Harrison, and Carol (Bob) Harrison of Merritt; one stepson, Jim (Vikki) Yeager of Houghton Lake; and two sisters, Lula Kittle of Hillsdale and Lela Hillier of Gladwin. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta Good; his parents; daughter, Amy; brother, Max Good; and two sisters, Nona Muma and Iva Peterson.

   Funeral services were held Saturday, June 25 at Gladwin Free Methodist Church with Pastor Phil Hortop. Burial followed at Butman Cemetery in Gladwin.

   Memorial contributions may be made to Americare Hospice of Grayling.
