Waldo Avery Glidden
FORMER RESIDENT'S RITES HERE
Waldo Avery Glidden, 66, former resident of Beaverton, passed away on Friday, October
31, at Hurley Hospital in Flint, following a four-day illness. Mr. Glidden was born December
18, 1886 in Tobacco township, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Enoch Glidden. He operated a
livery stable in Beaverton and was a veteran of World War I. At the time of his death he was
employed by the Allen Moving Company in Flint.
Surviving are his wife, Clara; one son, Arnold, of Flint; one daughter, Mrs. Virginia Reves,
of Flint; three brothers, Clarence Glidden, of Beaverton, Charles Glidden, of Pontiac and Harvey
Glidden, of St. Petersburg, Florida; also two grandchildren.
A sister, Winnie, preceded her brother in death. Funeral services were held this morning at
the Miller Funeral Home in Flint with the Rev. Judson Habenfeht officiating, with another service
this afternoon at the Dale church. Burial will be made in the Dale cemetery.
