Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Enoch Glidden

   Enoch Glidden died at the General hospital, Bay City, at 1:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 13, 1931, of flu. Mr. Glidden, who was living with his son, Harvey K. Glidden, was apparently well and able to attend to his work until last Thursday, when he was taken ill and retired to his bed. Early Friday morning he got out of bed and tripped over a chair, breaking his arm at the elbow. He did not improve and was taken Monday to the General hospital at Bay City, where he died shortly after midnight. His body was brought to Gladwin lated Tuesday afternoon.

   Enoch Glidden was born Sept. 16, 1861 in Maine. He came to Gladwin in the early, 80's worked in the lumber camps 20 years, later taking up farming and real estate. He was married Sept. 6, 1883, to Miss Elzada Harris at Edenville. Five children, Clarence Hartwill Glidden of Tobacco township, Charles Comstock Glidden of Bay City, Waldo Avery Glidden of Flint, one daughter Winnie who died at the age of 10 months, and Harvey Knox Glidden of Gladwin, were born to them.

   Funeral services will be held at the Presbyterian church at Beaverton this afternoon at 2:30, followed by burial at Dale cemetery beside Mrs. Glidden, who died Dec. 23, 1927. He was a sincere and devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist church.
