Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Virginia Gibson

   Virginia Kelly Gibson, 90, of Marquette died early Friday morning, July 13, 2007 at her residence.

   Virginia was born on Oct. 4, 1916 in Gladwin to the late Joseph and Maude (Tyrrill) Vanest.

   A graduate of the University of Michigan College of Nursing, Virginia was formerly employed at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor, St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba and also volunteered her nursing skills at a hospital in Aiken, South Carolina In her free time, Virginia loved to play bridge. She enjoyed spending time with her family and always had an interest in the welfare of others.

   Survivors include two sons, Dr. G. Peter (Barbara) Kelly of Marquette and Robert (Virginia) Kelly of Negaunee; six grandchildren, John and James Kelly, Tania Lajimodiere, Kristie Schaufele, Michael and Scott Kelly; eight great-grandchildren, Tyler, Morgan, Jack, Larissa, Ariel, Benjamin, Camron and Rex; several nieces and nephews; and three step-children, Darby Turnipseed, John Gibson and Grey Gibson. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. George Kelly; her second husband, John Gibson; a son, Dr. Mike Kelly and his wife, Cinda; and a sister, Kathryn Schulz.

   A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 18, 2007 at 7 p.m. at Brookridge Heights, 1901 Division St., Marquette with Rev. Leon Jarvis presiding.

   Memorials are preferred to the Lake Superior Hospice Association, 914 W. Baraga Ave., Marquette, MI 49855 in Mrs Gibson’s memory.
