Lloyd George
Lloyd E. George, 53, of 2355 West M-61, Gladwin, died Friday, Sept. 29, in the Clare Nursing Home after a long illness. Born in Flint on May 11, 1925, he was a cement mason for the City of Flint. Mr. George moved to Gladwin County in 1964. He graduated from the School for the Blind in Lansing in 1945 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Flint.
Mr. George and the former Betty Williams were married on June 26, 1948, in Flint. Surviving, besides his wife, are one son, David George; 2 daughters, Dawn of Big Rapids and Mrs Kip (D'Anne) Fritcher of Gladwin; his mother, Mrs. Gold George of Gladwin; 3 brothers, Arthur of New Boston, Edwin of Detroit and Robert of Columbiaville; and 2 grandchildren. Seriveces were held Monday at 1 p.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Bates officiated and burial was in the Arbutus Cemetery.
