James Greiner
James R. Greiner, 55, of 139 Deer St., Gladwin, died suddenly Saturday Aug. 1,
in Durand while playing golf. Born in Flint Dec. 1, 1931, he moved to Gladwin County in 1974. Mr.
Greiner was chief engineer for McLargo Corp. in Gladwin and a veteran of the Korean War. He was
secretary and past president of the Gladwin Lions Club and Lions Club Deputy District Governor. Mr.
Geiner and the former Nona Young were married Feb. 3, 1951, in Fenton.
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, James of Gladwin; 5 daughters, mrs. William (Janet)
Collins of Midland, Mrs. Donald (Rebecca) Davis of Okemos, Mrs. Franklin (Christine) Ribble of West
Berlin, Germany, Tammara Corbett of Owosso and Shelley Grove of Gladwin; and 11 grandchildren.
Services were held Tuesday at 1 p.m. from the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Donald Dengler
officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Leader Dogs for the Blind,
Michigan Eye Bank and Welcome Home for the Blind in Grand Rapids.
