Frederick Gatz
Frederick Gatz, 93, of 4950 Round Lake Rd., Gladwin, died Monday, Nov. 19,
in the Clare Community Hospital. Born in Poland Nov. 10, 1891, he came to Gladwin County in
1913. He was a farmer and a member of the Farm Bureau and Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mr.
Gatz and the former Ann Kutzke were married Jan. 16, 1916, in Oberlin. She preceded him in
death in July 1973.
Surviving are 3 sons, Rudolph of Grand Blanc, Albert of Virginia and Edwin of Gladwin; one
daughter, Mrs. Donald (Eleanor) Korkoske of Holt; one sister, Mrs. Martha Betke of Warren; 15
grandchidren, 25 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was also preceded in
death by a son, Arthur, in June 1948 and a brother and sister.
Services were held Friday at 1 p.m. from the Sisson-Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor Paul Schoun
officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery.
