Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Agnes Gatz

   Agnes Marie Gatz, 77 of Midland, died Saturday morning, April 16, 2005 at the MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland.

   She was born August 10, 1927 in Gladwin, the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (Adams) Endert. Agnes was a graduate of Gladwin High School class of 1946, and on September 27, 1947 the former Agnes Endert married Arthur E. Gatz in Gladwin; he preceded her in death on June 6, 1984. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Midland, had been employed 17 years at Johnson’s Flowers, also in Midland, and enjoyed camping, polka dancing, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with her family. She is survived by her children: Lloyd (Jo Ann) Gatz of Freeland, Leroy (Tammy) Gatz, and Letha Gatz, all of Midland; six grandchildren and seven Great grandchildren; a brother, Alfred (Gerri) Endert of Gladwin; sisters, Martha (Derwood) Ockerman of West Branch, Gertrude (Lawrence) Lemke of Gladwin, Genieve (Duane) Yager of Coleman, and Aldina (Joseph) Esiline also of Gladwin; and by her special friends, Robin and Linda Bebeau and daughters. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Banchoff.

   Funeral services were held April 19 at St. John’s Lutheran Church.. Rev. John C. Pohanka and Rev. Dr. Douglas K. Janetzke officiated. Internment was at the Homer Township Cemetery.

   Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider St. John’s Lutheran Church, Homer Township Fire/Rescue, or the Midland County Council on Aging.
