GEORGE GARREN


  George E. Garren, 74, of 2516 S. Long Rd., Beaverton, died Thursday, Aug. 3, in the Gladwin Area Hospital after a long illness. Born in Huthouse, Ga., on October 2, 1903, he came to Gladwin County three years ago from Detroit. He was a retired sprayer for Briggs Manufacturing Co. in Detroit. Mr. Garren was married to the former Lola Jones on April 13, 1930, in Blue Ridge, Ga.

  Besides his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Inex of Beaverton; one sister, Mrs. Cora Pritchett of Calhoun, Ga.; and 2 granddaughters, A son, Jay, preceded him in death in May and a brother, Loftus, followed him in death.

  Services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Donald Bates officiated and burial was in the Arbutus Cemetery..
