Clifford Gadd
Clifford M. Gadd, 79, of 4346 Chapel Beach Rd., Sage Township, died Saturday,
September 22, at Gladwin Area Hospital. Born in Clinton, Mich., May 14, 1894, he was employed
as chief load dispatcher at Consumers Power Company when he retired in 1959 and moved to Gladwin
County. He was with the company 43 years and lived in Saginaw. Mr. Gadd was a veteran of World War
I, enlisting in the army Nov. 13, 1917, and discharged May 15, 1919. He and the former Lydia Bullard
were married in Concord July 14, 1931. He was a member of the Wagarville Methodist Church and the
Gladwin Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Lydia; 3 sons, Dr. Duwayne Gadd of Pinehurst, N.C., Jack and Barry, both o
f Saginaw; 2 daughters, Mrs. Richard (Beverly) Armstrong of Chelsea, and Mrs. Howard (Marilyn) Ellis
of Bemidji, Minn.; a sister, Mrs. Cynthia Inkster of Jackson; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Services were Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Mathews Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Jensen officiating.
Interment was in the Grout Township Cemetery. A masonic memorial service was held Monday evening.
