Harold Friesen
Harold E. Friesen, 57, of 112 7th St., Gladwin, died Wednesday, July 3, at
his residence after a long illness. Born in Butman Township Sept. 30, 1927, he had spent most
of his life here. He was employed at Brown Machine and was a World War II veteran. He was a
member of the Round Lake Baptist Church. Mr. Friesen and the former Barbara Russell were married
Sept. 11, 1954, in Gladwin.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Scott of Gladwin and Dale in the Air Force in Japan;
3 daughters, Mrs. Timothy (Kathleen) Tennis of Allegan, Mrs. Robert (Anne) Rebandt of Lincoln Park
and Tracy at home; 6 brothers, Adolph of Gladwin, Paul of Detroit, William of Royal Oak, Ewald of
Birmingham, Henry of Grand Rapids and John of Troy; 3 sisters, Agatha Johnson of Portland, Ore.,
Jeanetta Wesley and Ruth Pletz of Lansing; and 3 grandchildren. A sister preceded him in death.
Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Round Lake Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Brown
and the Rev. Winston Decker officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Arrangements were
in charge of the Matthews Funeral Home.
