Grover Fries
GLADWIN MAN DIES SUDDENLY AT HOME
Grover A. Fries, 25, died suddenly at his home in Gladwin last Friday, January 27. Funeral
services were held on Monday afternoon at the Hall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Sidney S. Rood,
of the St. Paul's Episcopal church, officiating. Burial was in the Highland cemetery. Services
were under the auspices of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Mr. Fries was born in Sage township on
September 26, 1924, and was married to Miss Loretta Heidkamp at Gladwin on February 1, 1945, in
Gladwin. He was a veteran of World War II.
Surviving are his wife; one daughter, Sharon; his mother, Mrs. Chloe Fries, of Gladwin; three
brothers, Delmer, of Edenville, Clayton of Sanford and Robert at home; six sisters, Mrs. Viola
Gowers, Mrs. Edna Thorington, Mrs. Pearl Wray, Mrs. Pauline Hutson and Mrs. Eileen Pumfrey, all
of Gladwin; also Mrs. Janette Flores, of Saginaw.
