Dwight C. Foust
Dwight C. Foust, 88, of 2096 S. Grout Rd., Gladwin, died Saturday, April 7,
in the Michigan Veterans Facility, Grand Rapids. Born in Paulding County, Ohio, August 29,
1895, he came to Gladwin County in 1918. He was a retired carpenter and was a veteran of
World War I. Mr. Foust and the former Irene Cave were married June 14, 1922, in Mt. Pleasant.
She preceded him in death April 21, 1974.
Surviving are 7 daughters, Zelpha Blumenthal of West Branch, Hetty Scheuer of Lincoln Park,
Marcene Rice of Southfield, Leobelle Saylor of Clarkston, Ruth Doyle of Beaverton and Etha
Hockstaff and Leila Shamray of Colorado; 2 sons, the Rev. Roger of Phillipsburg, Mont. and
George of Flushing; 2 brothers, Jess of Belmont, Mass. and Arthur of Scott, Ohio; one sister,
Mabel Shaw of Paulding, Ohio; 20 grandchildren. A brother, Ira, also preceded him in death.
Services were held Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. Pastor George White
officiated and burial was in the Grout Township Cemetery.
