EDITH FOSTER


  Edith Grace Foster, 86, of 1090 Howard Rd., Beaverton, died Friday, Jan. 19, in the Gladwin Area Hospital after a long illness. Born in Canadaigua, N.Y., on November 16, 1892, she moved to Lake Geneva, Wisc., in 1913 and to Detroit in 1916. Miss Foster lived in Detroit until 1958 when she came to Gladwin County to care for her sister, the late Florence Fromer. She had been a resident of the Gladwin Nursing Home since 1974.

  Miss Foster was a member of the Hope Gospel Church of Detroit and was a commercial artist with Children's Aid Society. Surviving are 46 neices and nephews. Rites were held Sunday at 2 p.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Winston Decker officiated and burial was in the Arbutus Cemetery.
