Alvo Foor
Alva M. Foor, 82, of 2863 W. Erickson Rd., Rhodes, died Saturday, Nov. 19,
in Mercy Hospital, Bay city, following a short illness. Born in Napoleon, Ohio, on May 19,
1895, he moved to the Rhodes area in 1940, from Arenac County. Mr. Foor was a retired farmer
and a veteran of World War I. He was married to the former Anna Semler on July 14, 1954, in
Bay City.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 7 sons, Orvil of Port Huron, Wayne of Pinconning, Ernest
of Davison, Eldo and Ervin of Rhodes, Robert of Bay City and Alva Jr. of Linwood; 6 daughters,
Mrs. Lucille Palmer and Mrs. Ellen Scherzer of Pinconning, Mrs. Madonna Dubay of Linwood, Mrs
Evelyn Wade of Saginaw, Mrs. Arlene Storey of Rhodes and Mrs Janette McCann of Mildand; 2 sisters,
Mrs. Winnie Klein and Mrs. Zelma Powley of Gladwin; 4 brothers, Arthur and Norman of Gladwin, Melvin
of Midland and Ernest of Wisconsin; 56 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin chapel. The Rev.
Donald Bates will officiate and burial will be in the McClure Cemetery.
