Nelson Fitzpatrick
Nelson L. Fitzpatrick, 59, of 600 N. Arcade St., Gladwin, died Thursday, Nov.
18, at his home. Born in Clare County on March 26, 1923, he attended Beaverton schools. He lived
in Flint for seven years before returning to Gladwin in 1960. He was an installer and serviceman
with plumbing and heating firms. Mr. Fitzpatrick served in the Army during World War II. He was
married to the former Veris Young August 4, 1942 in Hockaday.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 6 sons, Ronald, Roger, Richard, Randy, Mark and Michael,
all of Gladwin; 4 daughters, Mrs. Jerry (Judy) Smith of Mt. Morris, Mrs. Lyle (Kathleen) Whitman
of Oklahoma, Mrs. Kimberely Frye and Jackie of Gladwin; 2 brothers, Frederick of Mt. Pleasant and
Dennis of California; 4 sisters, Mrs. Marie Smith, Mrs. Milderd Brannigan and Mrs. Theresa Slocum
of Clare and Mrs. Mary Morris of West Branch; and 25 grandchildren. One sons, Gary, preceded him in
March 1978.
Services were held Monday at 11 a.m. from the Mathews Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Allen officiated
and burial was in the McClure Cemetery.
