Inez Fassett
Our beloved Inez Sandra Maureen Fassett, 80, of Coleman passed away. Sandra died Oct. 19, 2005. Sandra was born June 29, 1925 to Clarence and Inez (Finney) Staley in Coleman, Michigan. She died of congestive heart failure at the home she was born in. Sandra valiantly fought the cancer that plagued her for 44 years.
Sandra married Kenneth Fassett in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sept. 18, 1974. He passed away in 1990. She lived in Midland County her whole life and worked as a plant manager for Robinson Industries. Surviving are her daughter, Dionne Rodgers of Nokomis, Florida, and her sister, Ardis Robinson of Coleman. She was predeceased by her husband, parents, and by her brothers, Norris Staley, Bernard Staley and Vernal Staley.
Sandra had many outstanding achievements. She graduated from high school at the early age of 15. She worked alongside Miles Kalahar in Plastics Research at Dow for which she received an award for a bullet proof vest developed for the Navy during World War II. When Sandra joined Robinson Industries, she put her total being into the development and the success of the company. Her persevering spirit and determination kept Robinson Industries in existence on more than one occasion. She used the illustration of a hand leaving no trace when pulled out of a bucket of water and worried that would apply to her time spent at Robinson Industries. This is not true with Sandra. Everyone who knew and loved her knows that she has been and always will be a part of our lives. The memory of her significant contributions in enhancing other’s lives is shared by the many who have known her through the years. Her daughter, sister and the families of Robinson Industries will miss her.
There was a private burial held on Saturday, Oct. 23.
