Ezra Fairchild
Ezra Noble Fairchild was born April 3, 1850, at Sharon Center, Medina county, Ohio, and departed this life February 23, 1927,
at 8 a.m., at the age of 76 years and 11 months. He was one of a family of 10 children, seven having preceded him to the
better land. March 14, 1875, he was married to Miss Phila Gillis, who survives him. To them were born three children, the
eldest having died at the age of three months. The other two are Claude Fairchild of Redford, Michigan, and Mrs. Bert H.
Harper of Washington, D.C. In 1884 he moved to Tobacco township, Gladwin county, Michigan, being one of the pioneers of that
township. He moved to Beaverton in 1908 where he has since made his home. His health having failed he went to Redford in
November to stay with his son, where he died very suddenly of heart failure.
Besides his widow, son and daughter, he leaves to mourn two brothers, Marshall of Mt. Vernon, Ohio, and Daniel of Beaverton,
six grandchildren, two great grand children, a number of nephews and neices and a host of friends. He was a highly respected
citizen. The body was brought to Beaverton from Detroit, Friday and the funeral services were held Saturday morning from the
Methodist church. Rev. A. J. Preston officiating. Burial in the Dale cemetery.
