George Edgar Entrekin
George Entrekin, a Civil war veteran, and an
old-time resident of Nester township, Roscommon
county, just across the line from Butman township,
Gladwin county, died at his home Saturday morning. Mr.
Entrekin had been confined to his bed a few weeks.
George Edgar Entrekin was born December 25, 1844, in
Columbiana county, Ohio. He served in the Civil war,
enlisted June 1, 1863, and was discharged July 25,
1865. He enlisted in the regular army Nov. 21, 1865,
and served three years. In 1880 he moved to Gratiot
county, Mich., and was married to Mary Welsh, May 15,
1881. They moved to their home in Nester township in
September, 1896, where they have since resided.
He leaves to mourn his departure wife, four sons
and one daughter, one son having preceded him in
death. He also leaves two sisters, Mrs. Jane Dennis of
Indianola, Iowa, and Mrs. Lotta Miller of St. Louis,
Mich., and many other relatives and friends. Funeral
services were held Tuesday, conducted by Rev. J. H.
Cornelius, and interment took place in Highland
cemetery.
