AMERICAN LEGION HOLDS SERVICES FOR COMRADE
Services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Zion
Lutheran church at Oberlin, conducted by Rev. Bernard
Roth and the American Legion. Burial services were at
the Ridge cemetery.
Born in Russia 41 years ago he came to the United
States with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alexs Endert,
when a small boy. He served in the A.E.F. of the World
War in the Polar Bear Division in Russia as
interpreter. In 1922 he was married to Miss Olga
Krause. He died January 10 at Mercy hospital, Bay
City, pneumonia, after an illness of several weeks. At
the time of his death he was serving as president of
the school board in Sherman township, district No. 2.
Surviving him are his wife, six daughters, Helen,
Elsie, Dorothy, Esther, Frieda and Mildred, his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Endert, and brother,
Alfred, all of Sherman township.
