SERVICES HELD TODAY FOR MRS. THOMAS EDICK

Services were held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Free Methodist Church for Mrs. Thomas G. Edick, who died at her home on State street Monday, July 21. Mary Logan Edick was born in Chargin Falls, Ohio, April 10, 1856. She was married to Thomas G. Edick January 13, 1873 and to them were born ten children. Three children preceded their mother in death. Mr. Edick, died August 30, 1924. Mr. and Mrs. Edick came to Gladwin county in 1877 and settled in Gladwin township. Gladwin was all virgin pine at that time and they had to clear the land and build a home. They moved to their home on State street in Gladwin in 1915.

Surviving her are three sons and four daughters, Henry and Roy of Gladwin, Albert of Flint, Mrs. Arthur Yeager of Skeels, Mrs. Warren Dassay of Gladwin, Stella Edick at home and Mrs. Harry Groat of Rhodes, twenty-eight grand-children twenty-four great-grand-children, besides other relatives and friends. Rev. Charles Woods of Saginaw assisted by Rev. H. R. Fidler, conducted the services with burial in the Ridge cemetery.

No rarer gem on earth was born, So sweet of face, so frail of form, The many days she faced the storms, We know not how her heart was torn, But we know her smile was heaven born. And mother now we know you've gone, To a happier place and a lasting home, Tho' we grieve for our loss in the coming years, You now are safe from this vale of tears. So farewell Mother dear, your work here is done, Accept your reward, in Heaven your home.
