Gladwin County Obituary/Death Notice
 
Faye L. Edick

   Faye L. Edick, 83, of 128 E. Grout St., Gladwin, and Register of Deeds for Gladwin County for 20 years, died Thursday, Feb. 13, in the Gladwin Nursing Home after a short illness. Born in Gladwin Nov. 9, 1902, she had spent her lifetime here. Mrs. Edick was an operator for Michigan Bell Telephone until retiring after 25 years. In 1955 she became a clerk in the County Tresurer's office for 3 years and then spent 7 years as deputy County Clerk. In 1963 she won the first of 4 terms as Register of Deeds until retiring at the end of 1984. Mrs. Edick was also an avid golfer and bowler.

   The former Faye Thorington, she was married to T. Leonard Edick Feb. 2, 1926, in Gladwin. He preceded her in death Feb. 1, 1976. Surviving are one son, Aldon of Gladwin; one daughter, Ann Moore of Newaygo; one brother, Roy Thorington of Holly; 4 sisters, Mrs. Eliza Wagar, Mrs. Cora Hutson and Mrs. Helen Wheeler of Gladwin and Mrs. Mable Gute of Chesaning. Services were held Saturday at 11 a.m. from the Hall Funeral Home, Gladwin Chapel. The Rev. Byron Hatch officiated and burial was in the Highland Cemetery Masoleum.
