Catherine Eagle
Catherine “Betty” Eagle, 93, of Beaverton passed away Friday Aug. 17, 2007 at Gladwin Nursing & Rehabilitation Community.
She was born Catherine Virginia Barkley in Detroit on Dec. 27, 1913 to Charles and Wilhelmina (Goslin) Barkley.
She married Clarence Moore who was a casualty of World War II. Then in May 1946 she married Elsworth Eagle and moved to Beaverton.
After retiring from Midland Hospital, Betty enjoyed visiting her family and friends. She attended Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Gladwin. She enjoyed the staff and activities at Gladwin Nursing & Rehab, especially bingo which she frequently won.
Betty is survived by five sons, Norbert (Janis) Moore of Coleman, Wayne (Judy) Eagle of Tok, Alaska, George (NoReena) Eagle of Clare, Gary (Carol) Eagle of Bellaire and Charles (Sheryl) Eagle of Marquette. Betty had 24 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Elsworth; two sons, Ralph Moore and Clarence Moore; and one daughter, Joann Stalter.
Services were held Monday, Aug. 20, 2007 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Fr. John Cotter officiated and burial was in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Sisson Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
