John Dwyer Sr.
John P. Dwyer, Sr., 95, of Gladwin died Thursday, June 7, 2007 at his daughter’s home in Bellevue, Michigan after a short illness.
He was born June 29, 1911 to John and Martha (Schulte) Dwyer in Detroit.
John was a machinist at Textron in Traverse City. He retired in 1972. He had lived in Gladwin County for 14 years, having previously resided in Florida. John was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
On Nov. 20, 1928 John married Luella Sing; she predeceased him in 2005.
Surviving are two sons, John Jr. (Gladys) Dwyer of Gladwin and Russell (Garnet) Dwyer of Mesick; two daughters, Martha (Bernie) Couturier of Battle Creek and Nancy Dwyer of Washington; 25 grandchildren; 33 greatgrandchildren; and five greatgreat- grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Luella; one daughter, Beverly Gaunt; and two sons, Robert and Theodore.
A memorial service was held Monday, June 11, 2007 at St. Phillip Catholic Church in Battle Creek with Father Charles Fischer officiating.
